CONNECT YOUR SHOT LIST TO POST-PRODUCTION TOOLS Production add-on

An extra subscription that adds round-trips with DaVinci Resolve, After Effects and Nuke / NukeStudio / Hiero, plus Sony X-OCN developing on Mac.

  • First 14 days free
  • Windows and Mac
  • Standard and group

WHAT IT DOES Features

DaVinci Resolve

Talks directly to the media pool and timeline of a running Resolve.

ShotList → Resolve

  • Right-click "DaVinci Resolve" → "Send to the selected bin" / "Send to a new bin"
  • Sequences become one clip; clips already in the bin are skipped

Resolve → ShotList

  • Choose what to import: all media pool clips / the selected bin and below / selected clips / timeline clips
  • Timelines import one row per edit range, with head / middle / tail thumbnails of the used range
  • Speed-changed clips get a Speed column; the clip interpreted fps is read too

Requires DaVinci Resolve Studio (the free version is not supported). In Resolve, set Preferences → System → General → "External scripting using" to "Local".

After Effects

Move between the Project panel and compositions.

ShotList → After Effects

  • Right-click "After Effects" → "Send to the selected folder" / "Create a new folder … and send". Sequences become one footage item; footage fps is set from ShotList
  • "Send to After Effects with a Composition": set name, fps and resolution; lay clips end to end in ShotList order, or keep Record TC
  • Choose how footage is fitted (stretch, match the editing app setting, etc.)

After Effects → ShotList

  • Choose what to import: all footage / the selected folder and below / selected items / composition layers (one row per used range)
  • Options to read inside precomps and include disabled layers

In After Effects, turn on Preferences → Scripting & Expressions → "Allow Scripts to Write Files and Access Network".

Nuke / NukeStudio / Hiero

Move between your shot list and Nuke nodes, bins and timelines.

ShotList → Nuke

  • Right-click "Copy for NUKE (node), NukeStudio, Hiero (bin)" and paste into the Nuke node graph: one Read node per selected row
  • In NukeStudio / Hiero, paste into a bin to import the clips
  • Sequences get %0Nd and frame ranges, cut rows get their cut range, plus resolution and anamorphic ratio

Nuke → ShotList

  • Copy Read nodes or bin items and use "Paste and Import from NUKE (node), NukeStudio, Hiero (bin)..."
  • Import Nuke scripts (.nk), also by drag & drop; script-relative expressions and relative paths are resolved
  • Import NukeStudio / Hiero timelines (.otio / Final Cut Pro 7 XML), one row per used range, with in/out, track and speed columns

HEVC, R3D NE, N-RAW, Phantom Cine and some others cannot be read by Nuke itself, so their Read nodes show no picture.

Sony X-OCN (Mac)

Develops Sony RAW through macOS media extensions.

What you get

  • Thumbnails, preview and playback of X-OCN (VENICE / BURANO / F65 / F55 / F5)
  • Finder / Quick Look thumbnails
  • Treated as S-Log3 / S-Gamut3.Cine; press d to switch to the ACES view

macOS 15 or later. Install the free "nablet X-OCN Media Extension" and "Apple Pro Video Formats", then enable it in System Settings → Login Items & Extensions → Media Extensions (the app guides you after import if it is missing). Playback is picture only. On Windows, metadata only.
