Manual › Production add-on
DaVinci Resolve integration PRODUCTION
PRODUCTION This feature requires the Production add-on (free for the first 14 days). In the trial or without the add-on, menu items show " (Production only)" and cannot be used.
DaVinci Resolve Studio (the paid version) is required. The free DaVinci Resolve does not support external control, so it cannot be used.
Setup
- Start DaVinci Resolve Studio and open a project.
- In Resolve, set Preferences → System → General → "External scripting using" to "Local".
Send from ShotList2 to Resolve
- Select clip rows in the list (or the Review BOX).
- In Resolve's Media Pool, select the bin to send to.
- In ShotList2, right-click → "DaVinci Resolve" and choose:
| Menu | What it does |
|---|---|
| "Send to the selected bin" | Imports the clips into the bin selected in Resolve |
| "Send to a new bin "shotlist_<name>_NN" in the selected bin" | Creates a new bin inside the selected bin and imports into it. It counts up _01, _02… each time you send |
In the Review BOX, Ctrl+D (selected bin) / Ctrl+Shift+D (new bin) also send.
- An image sequence becomes one clip. Rows split into cuts are sent as the original single file.
- Clips already in the same bin are skipped.
- When done, "Sent n item(s) to the DaVinci Resolve bin "…"" appears.
Make a list from Resolve
Choose File → "Import from DaVinci Resolve Project..." and set "What to import":
- Every clip in the Media Pool
- Everything under the selected bin
- The selected clips
- Timeline clips (one row per used range; choose the timeline from the list)
Choose "Include disabled clips" (No by default) and "Import into" (New Project / Add to Current Project), then import.
Lists made from a timeline automatically show the Record TC, Record Out, VideoTrack, Speed, Edit fps and Edit resolution columns.
If it cannot connect
- Check that Resolve Studio is running with a project open.
- Check that "External scripting using" is set to "Local".
