Finder thumbnails (Mac)
With the Mac version of ShotList2 installed, Finder shows thumbnails even for camera RAW and other files that normally show no picture. The Quick Look preview you open with the space bar shows the picture too.
This feature is currently Mac only. Thumbnails are not shown in Windows File Explorer.
Supported formats
R3D, BRAW, N-RAW, Phantom Cine, DPX, MXF and more.
Turning it on or off
It is registered automatically when ShotList2 starts. Turn it on or off in macOS System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions:
- ShotList2 under "Allow in the Background"
- The ShotList thumbnail / preview extension under Quick Look
Check the current state in ShotList2's Settings → "OS integration" → "Finder thumbnails and previews (Quick Look)". "Open "Login Items & Extensions"" opens the right page of System Settings.
If they do not appear
- Right after replacing the app, macOS may still hold old information. Log out or restart your Mac.
- Thumbnails are not created for files on network drives (NAS, shared folders).
- If ARRI Reference Tool is installed, it takes priority for MXF files.
