Editing the list
Show or hide columns
Right-click a column header to see the list of columns. Check or uncheck them to choose which are shown.
- "Hide "…"" hides just that column.
- "Reset column widths" restores the default widths.
- The No. column is always shown.
For finer control, open Settings → "Columns" (or "Edit..." next to "Import preset:"). Move columns between "Available:" and "Selected (= output order):" with "Add →", "← Remove", "↑ Up" and "↓ Down". This order is also the column order in the xlsx.
PRODUCTION The "Record TC", "Record Out", "VideoTrack", "Edit fps", "Edit resolution", "Edit DATA" and "Speed" columns are Production add-on features (information from timelines imported from DaVinci Resolve, After Effects or Nuke). Without the add-on they are marked " (Production only)" and cannot be selected.
Reorder columns and widths
- Drag a column header to move it.
- No. and the thumbnail columns (Start / Center / End Frame) stay at the left and cannot be moved.
- Column widths you change are remembered.
Sort rows
Click a column header to sort by it (click again to reverse). Number columns sort numerically; text columns ignore upper and lower case. The xlsx is exported in the order shown.
After sorting, "Renumber" numbers the rows 1, 2, 3… in that order.
Freeze columns
Keep the left columns visible while scrolling sideways, using the freeze bar below the "Filter:" bar.
- Drag the gray marker to the column boundary you want.
- Click it; it turns into a blue ■ and everything to the left is frozen.
- Click it again to unfreeze.
By default, the columns are frozen to the right of the thumbnails. The position is saved in the .shotlist file (it does not affect the xlsx).
Thumbnails
There are three thumbnail columns: start (Start Frame), center (Center Frame) and end (End Frame). Only the center one is shown by default. Hover over a thumbnail to see the full path of the file.
Change a thumbnail's frame
- Double-click the thumbnail, or select the row and press Space (or right-click → "Preview / Replace Thumbnail...").
- Go to the frame you want with ← → or by dragging.
- Click "Use this frame as thumbnail (Enter)".
Replacing cannot be undone. To go back, import that clip again.
Brightness and exposure
You can brighten dark thumbnails for the selected rows only (also available from the right-click menu).
| Action | Keys |
|---|---|
| Brighten thumbnails / Darken thumbnails / Reset thumbnail brightness | Ctrl+Shift++ / - / R |
| Increase / Decrease / Reset thumbnail exposure (1/3 stop at a time) | Ctrl+Alt++ / - / R |
To apply to every clip, use "Brightness" and "Exposure (EV)" in Settings → "Thumbnails" (Settings).
Comments and stars (Rating)
You can type into No., Scene, Cut, Take, Comment and Rating.
- Double-click a cell to type.
- For Rating, click a star. Click the same star again to go back to 0. You can also select a Rating cell and press 1–5 or 0.
- Ctrl+C copies the selected cells; paste them straight into Excel or a spreadsheet.

EXR check columns
These columns check whether EXR files will read correctly in other applications. None are shown by default; the "Open EXR" import preset adds them all.
| Column | Contents |
|---|---|
| EXR status | Points that may break the image in other apps, marked ▲. OK if there are none |
| EXR channels | The number of channels |
| EXR data check | The header values as they are |
| NaN / Inf(EXR) | The number of pixels with invalid values (heavy: counts every pixel) |
| RGB:MIN MAX(EXR) | The minimum and maximum pixel values (heavy) |
For sequences, the first, middle and last frames are checked. Nothing is checked while the columns are hidden.
